After my second layoff in medical sales in 6 years, I questioned if I even had the skills employers wanted anymore. The company that had just laid me off provided free access to a company to help me find another job. After talking with the career counselor and following her advice in restructuring my résumé, the low volume of callbacks I was getting pretty much vanished. David Manns of ACCESS Staffing Exexutive Search and I were friends through church. David sensed my frustration and repeatedly offered to help me even though I felt I didn’t need any help. My own efforts at shaping my résumé into something that employers would notice above the other noise was continuing to yield no results. I finally sat down with David and he began his assessment of me. David and Shannon (his wife) worked with me and helped me build my skills and experience into a résumé structure that made potential employers take notice. Within a month of posting for job opportunities in my field with the résumé he helped me create, I had my first callback for an interview. By the end of the second month, I had 3 more callbacks with separate companies for opportunities in my field. Out of those 4 companies, 3 of them offered me jobs at the end of he interview process.
