A company I used to work for does their taxes through Clear Choice. My W2 got lost in the mail, so I went into Clear Choice after being told I could get a copy of the employer W2 they had on file for me. When I went in, there were two women in the office. I told them I was picking up a copy of my W2, and they asked my name. After I told them my name, one of the women asked me “You don’t have a different last name?” I told her no, and she asked to see my I.D. After a couple minutes she handed me a folded paper and then I went home. Upon getting home and looking at the paper, I realized it was not my W2, but one of my old coworkers W2. After telling them my name and them seeing my I.D., they still managed to give me somebody else’s paper which had their address and social security number on it. I went back and told them they gave me the wrong one, and the same woman said “This isn’t your last name?” She then gave me the employers copy of my W2 without making a copy, which I’m pretty sure they’re supposed to have on file. I informed my old coworker of what happened and she is not pleased either. I don’t understand how they could be so careless with people’s personal and private information.
