I had been out of a job for a while and was holding out for a good three months trying to get on at a particular factory. I'd call weekly asking if they had openings and always told me the same line that they didn't yet but would call me if they had something. Next week I called them again and they stated they had filled every position due to a mass interview without calling me. I tried a few more weeks THEN they inform me that I would have a better chance if I made an application stating my work history. Up until then they never even once said anything about it even though I expressed huge interest in that particular place. Truly they didn't care about doing there job enough.
