I originally applied for a gravity cast position because I heard they get a swing shift. My recruiter told me that if I went full-time gemcare employee instead of letting AISIN hire me in she could put me in quality control and I'll start out a dollar more per hour and in a months time that the whole plant was switching to swing shift. She even called the plant to "confirm" this. After a month I realized that nobody was switching to swing shift except the position I originally applied for. I was also told in 90 days that I would get holiday pay, vacation time and start earning paid time off. As soon as I hit 90 days they told me it was a mistake on their part and that I don't get paid time off until 6 months, I don't get vacation time until 1 year of work and I don't get holiday pay at all. At that point I was hired onto gemcare full-time and they told me that there was no possible way that I could be transferred to the position I originally applied for because as a full-time gemcare employee I have to stay inside the quality circle even though they misinformed me since the beginning. Worked there 5 months 12/7 for $11.25/h, no PTO, no vacation, no holiday pay, and no double time while everyone else there made at least $13/h and got all of that and benefits.AISIN is a great place to work but don't waste your time going through gemcare when you can easily go through express or get hired by the company themselves.
