Do NOT ever use this practice! At first I had a great experience until the IRS didn't get one of my returns from 2014 that I paid Gene $135 to file. Then Gene and his staff pretended like they were going to help me out and deal with the IRS on this last month and today I get a bill for $135 and Gene tells me first that "I am not thinking clearly" and that he doesn't guarantee the IRS gets the mail that's up to the post office. So basically Gene will prepare your taxes and expect you to pay him up front for doing so but if the IRS doesn't get your return it's not his problem. That is by far the WORST business strategy I have ever heard in my life and clearly he does not take pride in his work and has no work ethic. So if you want to take a chance and end up with more penalties from the IRS use him, otherwise find someone else. I'm in the process of filing a complaint with DORA I'll let you know the progress of this.
