Overall Feedback:
I first met with Ken on February 7, 2019 to discuss his firm preparing my 2018 taxes and doing some short and long term financial planning for my wife and I. We spent over an hour together reviewing my finances and he seemed like a good guy. That changed when the IRS sent me a letter requesting additional documentation for my Federal return. When I asked Ken questions about what to do and told him what the IRS had told me about the delay in processing he responded by telling me not to call his office, that his office wouldn't be calling me and that I should send in the documents the IRS requested on my own. He sarcastically replied that he wasn't busy with only two weeks before the April 15th filing deadline, as if I was annoying him with my petty concerns! This is the service I get for the $250 fee I paid him to prepare a simple tax return??? The silver lining is that I learned enough about his character not to use him for financial planning.Update 6/4/19: I received my refund from the IRS. It was $1382 higher than Ken had told me it would be. It turns out I pre-paid that amount of taxes in 2018 but Ken neglected to report same on Schedule 5 on my return. When I e-mailed him about it his response essentially said that my "mind is closed" and it would be too difficult to "enlighten" me on what happened. This man is a fraud in my opinion!
