I used this firm to prepare our 2018 federal tax return. Very friendly staff, and initial impressions were good. Quality of work / accuracy was quite poor. When told to come pickup and sign our completed return, I immediately noticed that our AGI was not correct. They stated they would take a look, and get back to me. During this review period, they reclassified some retirement rollovers as taxable which was not correct. I have no idea why this change was made at this time instead of before the return was “done” but I was alarmed that things had changed. Especially because the rollovers were not taxable Once that was cleared up, the return was signed and filed. When the refund came from the IRS, it was thousands less than anticipated. After much of my own research and none of the firms, I learned that they either didn’t thoroughly review the documents I had provided or did not know how to properly handle tax payments made for a household employee. As such, our return was filed showing that we owed double the household employee tax, hence the smaller tax refund. I went to another CPA firm to handle the amended return, as I have zero faith in this firm’s ability.
