I have been working with Onondaga Employee Leasing (OELS) just about my whole entrepreneurial career (23 years). Early on, I realized it made sense for me to focus on what makes money and what I am an expert at, and to hire experts to handle things that are extremely important, but not money makers. Human Resources and payroll fall into that category of very important, and ever changing, but not a revenue driver for my business. It started as just an easier way to do things at an affordable price. Over the years it has become so much more. I now lean on them for help in hiring/firing, they also have helped us design and implement an employee handbook, they have helped us navigate disabilities with employees, they helped us determine if we were competitive with our vacation allowances, and they continue to advise on changes to health coverage. I now make them my first call for anything that is employee related. Unless you are in the human resources business or are big enough to hire your own internal human resources department, I think OELS is as important as having an accountant or a lawyer. It is great having a teammate in such an ever changing regulatory world. Thank you OELS for everything you do for WRN.
