Good recruiters. Very well intentioned. Great placement firm for entry level engineers. Terrible for anybody seeking to advance in their career. One bad apple ruined the whole bunch. This particular account executive had absolutely no grasp of the engineering industry or machining and assembly process. I've done very good work with his account managers in the past.

While the job the selected was right up my alley, they were very shady in having me go interview. I was pressured into leaving my current job early and drive from Illinois into Wisconsin because I "Would get the job if I interviewed". I went and was cordial to the company that I interviewed with and loved the potential opportunity. Then however, there was no communication. I asked repeatedly about what was going on; a simple no would have sufficed but I just was told that they'd "let me know" when they had more info. Nearly a month now and nothing. I lost half a day of pay and I get treated like a bag of meat?

I received great help from Sterling Engineering. I had been having a lot of trouble finding a position that I wanted. I was assisted with resume revisions, interview prep, thank you emails, as well as job hunting. They will help you succeed and give you motivational boost while they're at it. Sterling only represents companies that have good reputations, likewise with employees they find for the companies. Thank you Nighath, Kevin, and Rama for all the help!

Listen to Mike Sury. He knows what he's talking about. The job he and his junior recruiter had me interview for didn't pan out. The business and marketing tips Mike gave me are totally invaluable. In hindsight, if I'd followed his advice to the tee, I'd have landed that in-person interview rather than pos(t)ing about it here.
